Why lose weight?


There are many people who have always been big and battled with their weight on and off for years. Modern world lifestyles make people lose control on their weight and eating habits. More and more people are now less active as they get older may be because of family commitments, pressure and stress from work, credit crunch depression and many other factors that are out side many people’s control. Leisure time is often spent in front of big television screens, computer games or internet social networking.

Getting and keeping to healthy weight can help reduce many health problems including heart disease, diabetes, some cancers and joints related conditions. As they say prevention is better than cure. Healthy weight will also give us the confidence and the energy to achieving many positive things in life including social relationships, high self-esteem and pride.

Most of us would know if we are overweight or not by just looking in the mirror or by the size of our clothes. We don’t need anybody to tell us. Most of us know about the dangers of weight on our health but we don’t do much to change it. We are some times afraid of change. Is like smoking cigarettes. Most smokers know that cigarettes are damaging to health but yet they find it difficult to give up the habit. They are afraid of the new person they might become.

I think we should face up to our fear and do it anyway. With determination, commitment and desire anything can be achieved. Obviously if we are happy with our life and image than nothing can be changed.
